about
Two years ago, amidst the production of our second album, "Revelations of the Mother Harlot", Massimo Gasperini (head of legendary Italian label Black Widow Records) invited Vitam Aeternam to be a part of a “secret Lovecraft project”, to which we said YES without much thought. As the band started pouring sonic ideas into the crucible, our crazy lyricist closed his eyes and pointed his finger to a random page of his Complete Fiction of HP Lovecraft book; and so a tale was chosen… “The Case of Charles Dexter Ward”. The creative processes were once again imbued with demonic speed and magic, as so did the homonymic coincidence of having as a drumming guest our now fourth member Charles A. Leal. The result: “The Anachronic Geminae”, our first track as a quartet (no other guests involved). The unusual, freaky artwork (an intervened photograph) was provided by the artist Colin Batty who was reached through the Pecularium art website.
This song will be included in the album “Il Sogno e L’Incubo” to be released soon on vinyl through Black Widow Records and in which we will be among great company with other Lovecraftian-inspired tracks by Death SS, Mortiis, Paul Roland, Witchwood, Salem Cross, La Janara, L'impero delle ombre, La Morte Viene Dallo Spazio, La Stanza delle Maschere, Dunwitch, Runaway Totem, The Magik Way and many others.
We thank our label mates in Crime Records for handling the digital release of this single (which some of you might have already heard partially on our recorded live set). Still, we are very excited to share it with you finally.
lyrics
VITAM AETERNAM - THE ANACHRONIC GEMINAE
(BASED ON “THE CASE OF CHARLES DEXTER WARD”)
Alchemical ancestor's necromantic obsession
Philosophers can raise the incinerated body:
For the essence may be so preserved
an inspired man's wish can too be served
To awake the saltes of humane dust
and call up the shape of him, long lost
Chant the cryptic formulae!
Sing the thunderous declamations!
Utter the uncanny rhythmic babbling...
of a mad man... of a Madman!
To Him Who Shal Come After -
Beware of the usurpation: ‘The Anachronic Geminae’
Brother:
Sun in V House, Saturne in Trine
Pentagram of Fire, Say the Ninth Verse Thrice
Repeat each Roodmas and every Hallow's Eve
and the thing will breed in the outside spheres
“By Adonaï Eloïm, Adonaï Jehova, Adonaï Sabaoth,
Metraton On Agla Adonaï Mathon, the pythonic word,
the mystery of the salamander, the assembly of sylphs,
the grotto of gnomes, the demons of the heaven of Gad,
Almousin, Gibor, Jehosua, Evam, Zariatnatmik, Come, Come, Come!"
-YOG SOTHOTH-
For the essence may be so preserved
an inspired man's wish can too be served
(Alchemical ancestor's necromantic obsession)
Chant the cryptic formulae,
Sing the thunderous declamations…
(Philosophers can raise the incinerated body)
...now lay scattered on the floor
a thin coating of grey dust.

An experimental musical project formed by Jake Rosenberg, Râhoola, and André Aaslie. It’s through chance and shared musical
